Dear Allison....

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."
Psalm 139:14

Thank you for being such a sweet daughter, sister, companion, and friend!

It's been fun watching you grow from a child into a beautiful young lady.

You've been such an inspiration and encouragement to all of us.

Allison and what she called her "Mrs. Rice hairdo"

She was never one to be very adventurous.

Your trust in the Lord and strength through even the most difficult times has been a soft rebuke as well.

Aha!...caught you! : )

Your contagious love for life...

your sensitive spirit that always senses when someone is hurting...

your laughter that comes so easily and often...

the mischievous twinkle in your eye...

Hmmmm....looks like someone got into the hair bows again.... : )
The results are always hilarious!

the love that you give so freely...

Yes, and even your hairdos! : )

Crocheting one of her many beautiful blankets....and allowing Big Brother to "help". : )

All this we love and more!

May God bless you on this your 17th birthday and all through the year!

We love you, Allison!

Happy Birthday!!!

With bunches and bunches of love.....

Our Christmas Snow

Here are a few pictures of our Winter Wonderland....

Almost 4 1/2 inches and still snowing!

It's hovering right at freezing.  As long as it stays there....

Am I Dreaming???

 It's a White Christmas!!!

There is nothing more beautiful than the hush of freshly fallen snow...

Christmas Blessings

"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Isaiah 55:10-11

Last weekend (17th-19th), we got to spend a WHOLE weekend with Al, Angie, and the girls!  What a special time for our family!  We didn't spoil the girls much....and if you believe that, we have a bridge across the Atlantic Ocean we'd like to sell.  Anyone interested??? : )

We hadn't seen them since March, and the girls had done a lot of growing up in those nine months!  Mandy is now almost as big as we are!  Abby's hair has gotten so long and curly, and she is now in the stage of parroting everything you say....even the "Aaaaa-choooo!" and "squish, squish".  We wouldn't think about what we had just said until we heard Abby giggle and repeat.  So cute! : )

 Abby enjoyed eating with Grandma.

 So sweet!

Mandy is such a dear!  Always ready to give a hug or smile...
She was thrilled to be able to wear a sweater Angie had worn years ago.  In Mandy's words..."Mommy's 20-year-old sweater!"
It fit her beautifully!

Abby's name for Allison was "Ride!" : )

 Like father...

...like daughter. : )

 Love the headdress!

Don't worry, Mommy...I'll take care of those for you!

 Sweet sisters

 I love Twizzlers!!!

 Grrrrrr....
She had been pulling them off Mandy's gingerbread house, but then we found a stash we had brought home the night before. : )

They brought the snow down with them!  Saturday we had sleet and snow, but it didn't stay around for very long.  Friday night, we received a phone call to deliver some space heaters to a store in Gastonia who had been out of heat for 2 weeks. Right before Ray and Valerie were about to leave Saturday morning, the snow started coming down, but thankfully the roads remained pretty clear.

I guess you can tell we're from the South when we get excited over the least little bit, huh?!? : )

Sunday evening was a sad time as we watched Al, Angie, and the girls leave, but we were so thankful for the wonderful time spent with them and are SOOOOO looking forward to next time!
